Story of Salvation

In the beginning God created a perfect world with no sin, no death, no pain, and no suffering. God didn't just make nature itself, but he placed within creation, human beings to which he could have an unbroken, eternal relationship! It was God's plan from the beginning for us to live in peace and harmony within his beautiful creation forever!

God placed the first humans, Adam and Eve, in a beautiful paradise and blessed them! In this garden there were many fruit bearing trees they were able to eat, but God commanded them not to eat from one particular tree. The consequences of their disobedience was death and eternal separation from relationship with God. Our first ancestors disobeyed God's command and the perfect creation God had made became cursed and sin brought death and suffering to all. God did not leave people without hope. He had promised even then of a savior that would redeem them all!

Our God is a holy and just God who requires perfect obedience from all people and will justly deal out punishment to those who have broken his laws. We can seem like good people to each other, but because we have broken his laws, we are guilty! And because we are guilty, we are deserving of the just punishment, death and eternal separation from God. The Bible declares in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death! It also declares in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned! This means we are all guilty and will face the just punishment for our sins.

Obviously there is a heavy price to pay for sin! But the Bible declares in Romans 5:8, that in spite of our sin, God still loved us! He sent his one and only son, Jesus Christ to pay the ultimate price for our sins! Jesus came to this world, walked as a man, and never sinned! He did not deserve our just punishment for our sins, but because of his great love for us, he willingly died on a cross to pay the price we could never pay! On that cross, Jesus declared, "It is finished" and just like that the price was paid and the way was opened to us to have a restored relationship with God through Jesus Christ!

Jesus may have died on the cross 2,000 years ago. But his story does not end there! Three days after he died, he rose from the dead! Through this miraculous act, Jesus did not only prove his power over sin, but also his power over death! The Bible says that everything has been placed under Jesus' authority and that by having faith in Him we can be saved from the power of sin and its consequence; death! Those who believe in Jesus will die one day, but will then awaken to an eternal reward with God forever in heaven!
"What must I do to be saved?"

God's Word (the Bible) says in 1st John 1:9, that if we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! So if we repent of our sins, God will forgive us. The Bible also declares in Romans 10:9 that if we publically confess with our mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in our heart that God raise him from the dead, we will be saved!
